Yes please!

I'd have one of these.

Candelabras by Nick Fraser. I first saw his work at the Truman Brewery on Brick Lane, London.
I found these whilst flicking through Homes and Gardens! More here.

I'd definitely like to live here too.

The home of Farrow and Ball colour consultant Joa Studholme (they even named a paint after her...lucky girl!)
Oh, and this rug. It reminds me of one of my mum's old Dash jumpers! So eighties!!!
Hence the name I suppose!

Footloose and clutter free

Today was spent tying up a few loose ends before the weekend and organising some files on my laptop.
It's good to have a de-clutter once in a while and I always find it de-clutters my brain at the same time! I especially  love this image above...it makes me feel calm and collected...the simplicity of the materials, the monochrome palette and the addition of that amazing rug for a little bit of 'wow'! Have a lovely weekend! x

Diamond in the rough

I'm loving the Rough Luxe hotel in London, the latest interior scheme by internationally acclaimed designer, Rabih Hage. No gimmicks....just exactly what it say's on the tin! Whilst we're heading down to London at the end of next month, we'll be resting our weary heads in our lovely friend's flat in Notting Hill post carnival festivities!! I'd love to have a good old nosey round this place too! Thanks ej for telling me about this one! x

Jo Berryman

Do you ever have days where you could just pack up your belongings and move straight in to someone else's home? Well, if they let you that is! Today, I am having one of those days. May I present to you the home of Jo Berryman, owner of interior design and event styling company, Matrushka

Many of you may recognise her home from the April 2009 issue of Living etc. I certainly did following yesterday's post and I couldn't resist posting more images today which didn't feature in the magazine. Whilst Jo's North London home exudes contemporary chic, this is also met with a relaxed feel through the use of edgy British design.

Varying shades of white throughout the ground floor serve as a backdrop to showcase carefully selected furniture pieces and fabulous artwork and photography from the likes of Damien Hirst and Helmut Newton. Jo's styling background and well-honed eye is evident throughout and ornaments and books are displayed in a personal and creative way, making them works of art themselves in each room.  It is not only in her own home that she has perfected this refined yet laid-back look, head on over to the Matrushka website to see more wonderful spaces Jo has created.

In awe...

...of these rooms.
I had serious Monday morning palpitations scrolling through the gorgeous images on the 1st Option website found via the ever-lovely, Beach Vintage. No doubt many of you have spent time on this wonderful site already but I had to drag myself away quickly otherwise Tuesday's workload would have grown without doubt! I can't wait to head back there tonight!

A woman after my own heart

Sheryl Crow happens to be one of my all-time favourite singer/songwriters and having come across her New York loft over at Simply Grove, it's confirmed she not only has exceptional musical talent but also impeccable taste too. A neutral colour palette throughout softens the industrial elements within the space, such as the concrete flooring in the bathroom and the light fittings in the hallway. Add to this an amazing array of curiosities and you end up with an eclectic and homely space definitely worth lusting over.

'If I can re-use something or give it a new life, that's definitely better than throwing it out.' - Sheryl Crow

My thoughts exactly!!! Have a happy weekend. x

Little wings

I love a wee feathered friend in an interior, don't you?
I've had the stork image in my 'bathroom' file for ages and I love it. He looks so majestic up there above the bath...oh and the stripes....the stripes!!

A happy home

I came across the lovely home of Thecla Reinders over at Taverne Agency. What I love most about this home is her confident use of colour throughout, whether it be the more flamboyant citrus colours or the slightly deeper, more luxurious shades. You really get the sense that this lady has not just based her home around a particular colour palette but around the treasured personal items within the space which make her happy, and it is this which unifies the home and makes it work. As you can see, I couldn't decide which of the lovely images to post so I pretty much posted them all! x
